45Z Key Facts
Section 45Z provides a federal clean fuel production incentive for qualifying SAF, with credits of up to $1 per gallon for eligible production. It forms an important part of SkyFuel’s broader incentive and value structure alongside SAF revenues and environmental credits.
Credit Level
$1/gal for biogas-to-SAF (100% LCA reduction)
§6418 Transfer
Credits sold for cash to third parties. No tax equity structure needed.
NTP Deadline
Construction must begin before Jan 2028 to qualify production.
SkyFuel Plan
NTP all 3 sites before Dec 2027. 45Z registered via GREET/DOE.
If Not Extended
LCFS + CORSIA still deliver strongly positive EBITDA. Not a single-credit story.
